BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. (WLOS) — The YMCA of Western North Carolina now owns a fitness club in Black Mountain.
Cheshire Fitness Club, a 17,000-square-foot facility, includes a fitness area, indoor pool, racquetball court and child care space.
The previous owners are retiring and said they thought the YMCA was the right way to go.
“I am a YMCA girl. I graduated from YMCA College, so I am really happy that the Y is taking it over. I think it’ll be a great transition,” Cheshire member Renee Soulis said.
The 1,400 people who use Cheshire will automatically get Black Mountain Y memberships, which will give them access to YMCAs across the region and country.
The changeover happens Sept. 4.
